Take time to bask in the cool island breeze as you watch the dramatic shoreline being bathed in a pallet of spectacular sunset shades. Jost Van Dyke This tiny island has more goats than people, and more visitors than year-round residents. North Sound of Virgin Gorda This large, 2-mile long, landlocked lagoon provides excellent anchorage to the east of Mosquito Island, behind the reef extending southeastward from it's northerly tip. There is a rock about 5 feet below the surface in the middle of the entrance, but it is clearly visible in good light. I set out in the morning with a group of friends, visiting from Chicago.

You will love the magnificent view not to mention the breeze that you will be getting from the sea. At Ocean View Villa we are staffed by a highly skilled team that understands the dynamic need for your vacation home, away from home, and also to provide all the necessary needs to make sure that your stay is comfortable, very relaxing, and your villa very clean. The anchorage has good holding and is well protected from ocean swells by reefs to the east. Little known and rarely visited by Americans, the anchorage between the two islets, directly north of the lighthouse is well protected from the Atlantic swells by the extensive reefs to the east.

John the night before, set us up with a relaxed morning commute by taxi to the Cruz Bay docks, where our Captain was to pick us up. All of our dishes and cocktails were more than satisfying, as we were all hungry from the round of events and activity experienced in the prior hours. The best way to enjoy the sunset is, of course, from the water, where the view is unobstructed, and a friendly crew is there to see to your every need. Now the library for the tiny Pusser's Resort and an afternoon bar, it offers superb views in all directions of the multicolored waters. The western end is home to a half dozen beach bars and restaurants and a small hotel.

A single road connects White Bay, Great Harbour, Little Harbour, and the east end; it takes about 15 minutes to drive the four miles from end to end.

Pure perfection. At my most recent visit, on a North South Charters boat, the area had become so crowded that it was essential to come into many anchorages as early as possible, no later than two to three in the afternoon, to find a convenient anchorage or to pick up one of the moorings provided in many of the more popular places.
